Daisy Beatrice Daniels was born July 6, 1944 in Waterproof, Louisiana and peacefully departed this life on December 7, 2025. She was the third of nine children born to Albert and Pearline Daniels. Daisy accepted Christ at Evergreen Baptist Church, where she was baptized in the river. She spent her formative years in Waterproof and graduated from Tensas Rosenwald High School.
In 1963, she moved to Houston and pursed an education in nursing, working in healthcare for more than 50 years.
On July 2, 1966, Daisy was united in holy matrimony to Charles Louis Sancho, and their union was blessed with one son, Charles Jerome Sancho. Daisy and Charles were among the first members of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the choir, on the usher board, and as a deaconess until her transition. In addition, she served in the Mission ministry and as a pastor’s aide. She also was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Daisy found joy in family gatherings and loved spending her free time preparing meals for family and friends. Her vibrant spirit and larger-than-life presence will be forever remembered by all who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles L. Sancho; her parents, Albert Daniels Sr. and Pearline Williams Daniels; her siblings Albert Daniels Jr., Jimmie Lawrence Daniels Sr., Frank Daniels, and Willie James Daniels; and two step-granddaughters, Linda Lewis and Teresa Rae Wilson.
Daisy’s precious memories will forever be cherished by her son Charles J. Sancho and daughter-in-law Katonya Joiner-Sancho of Houston, one step-daughter Cora Lee Wilson (Raymond) of Odessa, TX; one grandson Charles Déonte Sancho Houston, TX; four sisters Rosie M. Eaglin (John), Joice Thomas (Melvin), Cassandra Daniels-Taylor and Ruth Oatis all of Houston, TX; one sister-in-law Margaret Daniels of Houston, TX; one nephew Jimmie Daniels, Jr. (Tyra) of McDonough, GA; three nieces Nechele Willams (Dana), LaShane K. Eaglin and Andrea Adams all of Houston; grand nieces and nephews, three honorary grandchildren Darian Whitlock, JaMarcus Whitlock and Almeisha Whitlock, special friends and her church family.
