John Michael Burks

John Michael Burks, 72, of Baytown, TX, passed away on March 11, 2025. John was born in Pasadena on July 18, 1952, to Frances Yvonne Hammer and John Walter Burks Jr., whom he will join in heaven. 

John was a devout Christian who loved reading his Bible and knew it well. He spent his career as a dedicated radio DJ, sharing his love for music with countless listeners. He was also a passionate Houston Astros fan, always cheering on his favorite team. 

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Robyn Hyde Burks, who passed away in 2021. He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Yvonne Valle, and her husband, Jose Antonio Valle Castro, of Rockwell, NC. He cherished his three grandchildren: Yvonne Burks, David Burks, and Grace Valle. John is also survived by his brother, Joel Burks, and his sister, Susan Smith, both of whom reside in Texas. 

John had a deep love for animals, especially his cat, Luker. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to local animal shelters in his honor.
