Larry Alexis
Joseph
Jan 21, 1946 — Jun 30, 2026
Houston, Texas
Larry Alexis Joseph, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was born on January 21, 1946, in Arnaudville, Louisiana, to the late Adrian Joseph and Edna Joseph.
Larry attended St. Peter Claver in Grand Coteau, Louisiana, where he graduated with the Class of 1966. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam Era before receiving an honorable discharge.
After completing his military service, Larry made Houston, Texas, his home. It was there that he met the love of his life, Barbara Noel. The two were married on October 17, 1970, and shared a loving marriage that spanned more than five decades. Together, they were blessed with two sons, the late Demetrius “DeeDee” Joseph and Adrian Joseph.
Larry dedicated many years of service to Iscotx, where he worked in automation until his retirement. In retirement, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Papa,” he cherished every moment with his grandsons, Dylan and Dorian, and his granddaughters, Alexis, Jasmine, and Aubree.
Beyond his own family, Larry became known as the neighborhood grandfather. He welcomed children with kindness, offered wisdom without judgment, and served as a positive role model whose guidance left a lasting impact on countless young lives.
Larry was a former member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, where he faithfully served in the choir and dedicated his time to numerous church ministries and committees.
Larry peacefully departed this earthly life on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Edna Joseph, his siblings, Lawrence, Daniel, Mary Lou, Hebert, Betty Lou, Harold, Clarence, Howard, Earley, Jeanette, Rita, Retha, Mary Jane, his godson William (Butch), and his recently departed son, Demetrius “DeeDee” Joseph.
He leaves to cherish in his memory his devoted wife, Barbara Joseph; his son, Adrian Joseph (Caroline); his grandsons, Dylan and Dorian Joseph; his granddaughters, Alexis, Jasmine, and Aubree Joseph; his godchildren Trica, Montra, Annette, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing him.
Though Larry is no longer with us in physical form, his legacy of love, wisdom, compassion, and quiet strength will continue to live on through his family, the children he mentored, and everyone fortunate enough to have crossed his path.
