Manuel Lynn Smith Jr. passed away peacefully at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont on September 30, 2022 went to be with his Lord at 3 AM at the age of 67 years.
 
 Manuel L. Smith Jr. was born July 21, 1954 to the late Manuel Smith Sr. and the late Eliza Smith Spears in Beaumont, TX. Manuel was the fourth child and only boy of the five born to this union. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Willie Smith and Rosetta Berry, maternal grandparents Gus Jones Sr. and Amelia Bias Jones, and parents Manuel Smith Sr. and the late Eliza Smith Spears. 
 
 Manuel L. Smith Jr. accepted Christ as a baby at Douglas Memorial CME Church. As a youth he is remembered as a loving youth who spent much time with family, church, and neighbors. He was very interested in vacation bible school and taking care of and learning his precious Bible. Manuel attended and graduated from Charlton Pollard High School in 1972. Immediately, afterwards Manuel enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Being a Marine brought Manuel great joy and pride throughout his life. After serving his country back in Beaumont Manuel enjoyed driving, eating favorite food, wearing quality starched and pressed clothing, and being social while drinking coffee with family and friends. Being the only son of his parents Manuel could count on his sisters who showed unconditional love. He gratefully returned the love throughout generations. Which in 2004 led to his niece Tiffany introducing him to the love of his life Patricia Rogers Smith who he married March 2007 in Beaumont, Texas. 
 
 Survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Patricia Rogers Smith. Sons; Terrence Smith Sr. and Erick Watson both of Beaumont, TX. Step-daughters; Shaketha Drew, Aesha Drew, And Tanya Arceneaux (Elton) all of Beaumont. Grandsons; Terrence Smith Jr., JaJuan Drew, and Traishane Drew all of Beaumont. Grand-daughters Kaidence Smith and Dashanti Drew. Great grandsons; Da’mari and Kaydence Drew. Sister; Rosetta Dolores Provo(Fort Worth, TX), Vera Jean Morgan(L.C.), Lynda Smith Gilder, Amelia R. Coleman all of Beaumont. Nephews; Eddie Provo Jr. (Fort Worth, TX), Salama Troy Morgan, Phillip Brazile Jr, Derek Gilder, Sean Gilder(Ericka), Ronald Coleman(Rochelle), Reginald Coleman, Rodger Coleman(Kimberly), and Eran Moore(Katrisha). Nieces; Kimberly Gilliam, Decheshe Morgan, Tiffany Brazile, Dynasty Gilder. And a host of family and friends.
